Welcome to your journey through drone training, where we guide aspiring pilots from your first interest about drone flying all the way to mastering the sky with advanced aerial skills. This page serves as your guide, outlining a clear and progressive path from your first licence to expert aerial techniques. Our courses and curriculum are thoughtfully structured to cater to both hobbyists and professionals, ensuring a solid foundation, skill enhancement and specialisation in the dynamic field of drone technology. Dive in with us and discover how we can elevate your drone piloting skills, every step of the way.
Start your professional drone operations journey with the Remote Pilot Licence (RePL). As the first step into the industry, it is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to operate drones safely and legally for commercial purposes in Australia. Our Foundation course covers aviation theory, operational procedures, and hands-on flight training, ensuring you understand the regulations and can proficiently pilot drones up to 7kg (multi-rotor) and are licenced to fly uncrewed aircrafts in general aviation airspace.
Enhance your communication skills in the aviation field with the Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC). This qualification is crucial for drone pilots who need to use aviation radio frequencies, particularly when operating in controlled airspaces, included in our three most popular courses:
Advance your drone piloting career with our specialised training for operating drones up to 25kg and conducting night operations. This advanced course delves into the specific skills and safety measures required for handling larger drones and flying after dark, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities these conditions present. A crucial next step for drone pilots looking to broaden their operational capabilities, this is included in our Professional course.
For those that want to operate their own commercial drone business, take the next step by obtaining a Remote Operator’s Certificate (ReOC). This course prepares you to manage and operate a commercial drone business under your own ReOC, focusing on the regulatory, managerial, and operational aspects of running drone operations. Included in our Commercial course, this allows you to exercise the full range of uncrewed operations outside of Standard Operating Conditions (SOC’s).
Specialise further with our Medium Category and Type Ratings course, ideal for drone pilots who wish to operate medium-sized drones, those above 25kg and below 150kg. This advanced training focuses on the specific handling characteristics of specific aircrafts including DJI AGRAS T30, T40, Flycart 30, Freefly Alta-X, Freespace Callisto 50, AGR B70 and more. Each individual aircraft in this category must be operated only under a ReOC, if you intend to earn money flying these uncrewed aircrafts, they must be individually type rated. This type rating will appear on your RePL as a specific rating for that aircraft. Preparing you to both fly these larger Remotely Piloted Aircrafts safely and efficiently and help prepare you for your CASA type rating flight test.
For pilots who have already completed the Medium Category and Type Rating course for a specific aircraft, obtaining an additional Type Rating is the next step to expand your operational capabilities. Focusing on the individual aircraft’s requirements, allowing you to have multiple type ratings appear on your RePL, as you get type rated on different aircrafts. If you're ready to broaden your skills with an additional Type Rating, please contact us to discuss your training options.
Upon completing your drone training journey and mastering the sky, a world of career opportunities awaits in this rapidly expanding uncrewed aviation industry. From aerial photography and cinematography, surveying and mapping to agricultural monitoring, infrastructure inspection, and emergency services, the skills you’ve acquired at Uncrewed Aviation open doors to diverse roles across various industry sectors. Whether you aspire to be a freelance drone pilot, run your own drone service business, or join an established organisation, the certifications and experience gained through our courses position you at the forefront of this innovative industry.
